Jenny Halper's story of friendship and self discovery is a gem. The setting and characters are so fully drawn that "The Sisters" could blossom into a novel. A writer to watch.
Where is the rest of the book. This is maybe the first chapter of what could be a great book about the nuances of relationship. It never says why happened.
Ms. Halper is a truly gifted writer. 'Sisters of the Notthern Star' is a pleasure to read. Let's hope for more soon!

Would like to see this story & this theme go farther, expanded into a novel. I've often read stories of womens' friendships, but can't recall this take on it.
