Historical Science Tourist Fiction Novel. What could cosmopolitan Santorini and the lost Atlantis possibly have in common?
Two stories separated by thousands of years, but drawn together by something much greater. A discovery made on Santorini today could potentially change the history of the human race for ever. On this same island three and a half thousand years ago, a desperate struggle took place in legendary Atlantis; a struggle to save a people and a civilisation.
The two stories and their characters run a parallel course, touching, parting and intertwining constantly, tied to the place that links them, the archaeological site of ancient Akrotiri, where both start and both end.
A delightful journey to one of the world’s top tourist destinations and a race against time in the age of the Minoans, creators of the oldest European civilisation the archaeologist’s spade has ever brought to light.
This novel is the product of extensive research. It is a fascinating quest to discover the truth behind the legend of lost Atlantis.
It is a combination of the real and the imagined, the past and the present, which excites and holds the reader’s interest to the very last page

Atlantis Never Lost The story of Santorni eBook George Koukoulas Marina Morou KayElvina Sutton

After recently visiting Santorini I wanted to learn more about it's "explosive" past. A fictional story based on historical fact, the author has done a good job researching the geologic history and explaining the repercussions of the eruption on the ancient societies of the eastern Mediterranean. Character development is good, but the real strength of the book is the well-explained eruption and subsequent impacts. A map would have been helpful. Another plus about the book is the author includes excerpts from Plato's work that describes Atlantis. The combination of these provides good value.

I bought this book while i was in Santorini this June during my honeymoon, and finished it already while i was in Santorini. It's one of the best fiction books i have ever read. I couldn't put it done, once i started, the author put so vivid pictures in front of your eyes, you easily picture yourself in the places he describes. The story is so exciting, and smooth, you just cannot help to want to know what will happen next. The ending is quite a surprise, but still well connected with the beginning.

I strongly recommend anyone who have visited Santorini, or will visit Santorini to read this book.
On my last trip to Santorini this past June I was thrilled to find this book which was a signed copy by author, George Koukoulas. If you are going to visit the beautiful island of Santorini I would highly recommend reading this. And if you love archeology, this is one of the best books I have ever read! The book includes an appendix of photos that compliment certain chapters. The author has written this novel in a fictional way. it is also somewhat of a love story. The ending comes as a complete shock, one would never expect. George Koukoulas is an incredible writer.
Over the last fifteen years I have stayed in Santorini for several months at a time. I consider this island a second home. I was impressed by all of this author's efforts to connect Santorini to the ancient civilization of Atlantis.
The author lives in Santorini and works as an Air Traffic Controller at Santorini Airport. This is his first novel. He spent a good four years writing it. He is an excellent writer!
