This book is begging to be made into a movie. Considering the author's background, that would makes sense. The characters are colorful and interesting. The plot line was different enough and it moved well. It took a little getting into it, but once I got the feel - it became a surprising page turner for me. I really enjoyed this story. No matter how different we are if we work together, we can overcome evil. All the characters have amazing personalities. The landscape comes to life with detailed descriptions. I would highly recommend this story as a gift for pre teen to adult.
Well, fantasy fiction isn't not my usual genre of choice, but I really enjoyed this ride. I found the characters rich and the plot intriguing. I love too that there is a female lead character who can hold her own in battle and doesn't need rescuing. That plot line is so 1950s. I can't wait to find out what happens in book two. Congrats on a great first book Bruce Jones!
